The Story of Us

No matter how busy we are in our daily activities, life has its way in giving back to us what is due and that is precious quality time to start fresh and anew.

I am a workaholic. I dislike the period of lent specifically from Maundy Thursday onwards where there is no work, although in our profession we are on-call on a twenty-four hour basis. But again and again I would always go back to the concept of the universe taking you back to basics, back where you should be at the right place and at the right time. True. This period was different and I should say wonderfully different. It made me realize that it had to happen for me to realize that it is indeed worth it to “stop and smell the roses” in the travel of life, that what I exactly need in my life now is already present and I am grateful. I can attest to the truth behind the simple cliché we have all been told and that we need not look for complexities out of a simple situation and that what we might have been looking for in so many places may have already been there in the first place. All we need to do is realize, acknowledge, accept and be open.

It is indeed the story of “us”—my friend, Life and me. I posted pictures of simple moments in my life that I have retrieved and decided to share with you because it is through these moments that I have come to say that it is really indeed the simple things in life we forget, but it is in these “things” that we truly find what is essential for us to appreciate what we have now. End result of which is a heart filled with contentment and gratitude for the blessings handed over to us by the Higher Power we believe in.

The randomly arranged pictures show the appreciation of my travels and the cultures I have learned, pictures of precious things, scenes and people such as my happy and jolly Buddha, the mystical being, my rare and favorite chocolate, my favorite patient, my parents, my children, my wonderful medical dream team, a simple favorite place to eat a local dish and a patisserie bearing my favorite word spelled uniquely as “Serenedipity” and the magnificent embodiment of the law of attraction which is the fulfillment of a career I have long waited for and envisioned myself in, the Meralco Corporate Wellness Center.
